Until now. I found this hot pot for $2 at a garage sale last week, and I have decorated my entire guest bedroom around it. (Edited to add: My husband did point out the irony of trying to rid our home of unnecessary plastics only to buy something plastic for our guests to boil water in! Good thinking, Brite. )
Orange has been winning me over slowly. When I first met WH and learned of this color preference I really hated orange. Then as I fell in love with him my hatred dissolved and everywhere I turned I saw "his" color. I really loved autumn tones for the first time (although in FL we saw the leaves turn mid-February) and created this collage and entitled it "The World Through WH's Eyes." Now I can hang it in the guest bedroom. :)
The guest room, or "Spare 'Oom" as we like to call it is now a cozy place to hang out. We are expecting a guest in a few minutes, so I'd better run and put the candy bowl out. I have to do that at the last minute to avoid tempting the tiny candy thieves (okay, and also so I don't eat all of it).

Keep an eye out ... My kids and I have noticed how stores like Wal-Mart like to try to dictate everybody's "favorite" colors for the year. I think orange is one of their 5 colors this year, and lots of color-themed "stuff" is going on clearance now that the back-to-school/college rush is over. :-)
my husband has always loved orange too! so funny. little did he know that he was going to meet a dutch girl who fully embraces orange (it is the dutch national color - think the royal house of orange). now of course he feels completely justified in buying more orange shirts than i can keep count of. :-)
Post pictures of the whole room for us....I'm curious about your use of space since the room is also your sewing/craft area right? Love the orange esp this time of year.
maggie has loved orange since she was 18 months - always picking that over anything else. she still stays very true to her choice and i try to make sure she always has something clean to wear that is orange, even if it's just underwear or a hairbow. and now, i'm loving orange too, thanks to my special 4 1/2 yr old. kudos to warren for liking a great color!
