Lead Us Not Into Temptation

"She was being a BAD example to me!"

Said by Coop, after I discovered he and Not-so-Sweet A had dumped cups and cups of water on the bathroom floor. I threw three completely soaked bath towels into the wash and gave him a lesson on standing up and doing the right thing even if he is tempted to join the crowd in doing the wrong thing. Flooding the bathroom is definitely the wrong thing.

He said the same thing about an hour later when I discovered crayon all over the children's table. I disciplined Sort-of-Sweet A for drawing on the table (we've discussed the "only paper" coloring rule a million times) and she said, "Coop next- he did it too." Apparently his days of hiding his sin are over with the advent of her developed language skills.

She is a bad example because even though he's had his share of making mischief, he's never been very daring or creative in his disobedience. I guess we'll just have to drive home the importance of standing alone...maybe I should start teaching him about how to give a biblical reproof.
Back in their younger days...

i remember the days when maxx used to draw on the wall WHILE saying, "no no, get spanking". i think that was what he thought drawing on the wall was called, not what was the result of drawing on the wall...

oh the memories!

ah yes, drawing on things besides paper. i remember the day i heard someone talk about their children doing that, and i thought, "my kids would never do that." i'm glad the Lord proved me wrong when they did! :) they're so sneaky. when we were moving out of our house a few weeks ago, i found crayon on all SORTS of stuff!!! no wonder they were so quiet sometimes! ;)

My kids are all daring (as you know) and they think of things together they'd never think of alone.

As you have photographic evidence. ;)

the best part of that post is how A's name changes depending on how much trouble she's in. why doesn't coop get a cool name like "I-am-a-sheep" Coop, or "not-a-shepherd" Coop? ;) I'm sure you can think of a better one.

Ha ... I can't help thinking how much fun it must have been for them to dump cup after cup of water onto the floor! What a rush! It must be great to be a kid -- it's so much harder to have that kind of fun when you're an adult. (Coloring on stuff just doesn't do it for me anymore.)
