His and Hers

Date nights, that is.

Last week's menu: Deborah Madison's Beet and Kale Risotto with artisan bread and white wine.
This week's menu: Hot wings, homemade french fries, and beer. (After the risotto I needed to make it up to him.)

Both meals took a little more prep and time to make, and both were delicious. (Okay, true confessions: I made myself a chicken breast. I'm not in to spicy foods.) Both also seemed like another side would have completed the meal. We needed a salad with the risotto. When I asked WH what else you eat with hot wings at a restaurant he said, fries and beer. When questioned as to what would round it out better he suggested another kind of beer.

So for those who argue there are not many differences in males and females, here is a case study.

Both sound great! Though with us, Chet would have chosen the risotto, and I would have gone for the chicken wings. ;)

That is so cute, Brite! That risotto looks so good. My guy likes celery sticks with his wings - dipped in bleu cheese (just to make them healthy you know).

Yes, whenever you order wings at restaurants in my experience, you get celery as well. My husband then pours scads of ranch dressing over everything, so healthy isn't an option, but at least he's eating vegetables....

We do celery. It makes you feel a little less guilty and balances it all out. Of course we have several different dipping options. I do think at some point you should take the plunge and try it out. Dipped in Honey Mustard it balances out the flavors perfectly!!

I mean the wings dipped in Honey Mustard...it's not as spicy as you might think....
