Friday Night Floats

My husband is a genius.

Being the lover of people and crowds that he is, WH came up with a great idea to have people over, even in the absence of a dining room. (And in the presence of a wife who thought she was super social but learned the truth after she got married to a real party planner. Three babies also cut down on her energy level.)

Enter: Friday Night Floats

Every Friday night in August from 7-9pm we have invited our church, work friends, neighbors, (our friend's neighbors...it's an open invitation) to enjoy ice cream floats at our house. Everyone stays outside- which in our corner of the world is actually pleasant after the sun starts to set- the ingredients are easy to keep on hand, we use paper cups,  so prep and clean-up is a breeze, and a good time is had by all.  I would be so boring without my husband.

What are you doing this weekend?

What a fun idea! We've done something similar this summer. Twice a month we've had "Summer Nights" where we just have an open invite for people to come over and hang out down by the brook. Tonight is our next one, and I think it's going to be pretty muggy (if not wet) and so we're moving indoors for a game night, but isn't it so relaxing entertaining outdoors w/ paper cups? I love it! Hoping to continue through the fall in some capacity... - It was so fun catching up with your house pics-I haven't had much time for blog reading lately, and have missed several of your last posts. It's looks great! So fresh and updated! Hope you're enjoying your weekend, ~Kristin from Windy Poplars

This is a great idea! I am trying to figure out a way to have our small group over (that's not so small ... 20 people or so) without stressing too much. This may be the ticket.
